A 46-year-old man has been charged with malicious wounding, after allegedly stabbing a man in the back early this morning.
The 37-year-old victim was walking through Islington Park just after one o’clock this morning with two women, when police say the man approached him.
It’s alleged a fight broke out and the older man used a pocket knife to stab him in the back.
Police later found and arrested the accused in nearby Devon Street.
The victim was taken to John Hunter Hospital and treated for a four centimetre laceration.
