HORROR FINAL ROUND FOR McKECHNIE AT WA PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

The Hunter’s Leigh McKechnie produced his worst round of the tournament, to finish in a tie for 19th at the WA PGA Championship at Kalgoorlie.

McKechnie started the day in a share of the lead, but dropped four shots in his opening four holes to slip out of contention.

Central Coast golfer Dimi Papadatos fired a final round 68 to win.

Good news too for Charlestown’s Jye Picken.

The 16-year-old finished at seven-under at the Jack Newton North Coast Junior Masters in Kew, to easily claim the title.
