SEAFOOD TO BUY FRESH OFF THE TRAWLERS IN BALLINA

Seafood lovers will soon be able to buy fresh produce straight from the trawlers.
Council yesterday voted to give fishermen the licence to sell directly to the public from Ballina’s Lance Ferris Wharf.
“I can see lots of positive things about it for tourism.”
Council still needs to speak with the local Fisherman’s Co-op and the Ballina Chamber of Commerce about the finer details.
“We have got to make sure it’s actually allowable from the wharf itself because the wharf is a public facility so there could be only limited times it could operate.”
