MAITLAND BELT ADAMSTOWN 6-1 IN NPL

In the Hunter’s NPL competition, Valentine scored a confidence-boosting win over Weston today, while Maitland hammered Adamstown 6-1.

Down to 10 men and behind 2-1 on the scoreboard early in the second half, Rosebud thought it had a decent shout for a penalty.

But a few minutes later, the visiting Magpies made it 3-1 thanks to a Matt Comerford free kick. When Jye Mackellar found some space through the middle, Maitland was in front 4-1.

Substitute Zac Thomas was next to get in on the act, as the Magpies claimed a big win, and edged closer to the top four.
