Two people in hospital after Gateshead shooting this morning
Lake Macquarie Police are appealing for information following a shooting at Gateshead earlier this morning.
Just after 2.20am on Thursday September 21, emergency services were called to an address on Cassia Crescent, Gateshead, following reports of a shooting.
On arrival, officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District located a 42-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police were told that they were shot by a man believed to be in his 30s at the scene.
He left the scene before police arrived.
The 42-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with his arm injury before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The 30-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with her leg injury before being taken to the same hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has commenced.
