NEW SIGNS ACKNOWLEDGING ABORIGINAL COUNTRY IN THE NORTHERN RIVERS

They’re big, colourful, and part of a New South Wales Government initiative acknowledging Aboriginal Country.
Six road signs have been installed across the Northern Rivers, displaying Indigenous artwork.
Yaegl artist, Charlene Williams, says the work highlights 14 significant cultural sites.
“This logo will be used through Yaegl country as you’re entering both the north and the south on the M1 highway,” Yaegl Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation CEO, William Walker, said.
