Catching alight just after midnight, a Terrigal burger bar has been badly damaged by fire.
Kitchen appliances were destroyed, and the restaurant is expected to be shut for some time.
Fire fighters managed to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby shops.
The fire is not thought to be suspicious.
