The owner of two dogs that brutally mauled a man at Billinudgel in January has been fined $1500 in Byron Bay local court.
The 58-year-old victim suffered serious arm and thigh injuries when he was attacked while walking along Moffats Road.
The court found the owner guilty of failing to fence his property and not registering or micro-chipping the animals.
Both dogs were put down after the incident.
