TUNNELS AGAIN A DESIGN FEATURE OF COFFS HARBOUR BYPASS

More than 700 pieces of community feedback has led the New South Wales Government to change tack on the Coffs Harbour bypass, confirming tunnels will again feature as part of the 14 kilometre route.
The announcement was made as Deputy Premier John Barilaro visited Coffs Harbour on Tuesday, with other significant design changes also touted, including a reduction in the height of the viaduct adjacent to Mackays Road.
In addition, a locally represented committee will be set up to guide the project through to completion.
Work on the long-awaited bypass is set to get underway in 2020.
