CENTRAL BEATS CESSNOCK AS NEWCASTLE LEAGUE FINALS TAKE SHAPE

In Newcastle Rugby League, Central has finished second on the ladder after outclassing Cessnock 36 points to 16 in the final round.
Trailing 14-nil at half time, the Goannas got back into the contest after the break, as Joe Woodbury scooped up the ball and raced 90 metres to score.
But the Butcher Boys put the result beyond doubt as Simon Williams waltzed through the Cessnock defence.
Central’s win means Kurri makes the finals in fifth, with Lakes, Souths and Maitland making up the top four.
