TWO PEOPLE THREATENED WITH TOMAHAWK IN ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
A man will undergo surgery on his jaw, after it was fractured in an attempted robbery at Port Macquarie.
The 30-year-old and a 19-year-old woman were sitting in their car at Shelly Beach car park around 8:30 on Tuesday night, when a man approached them and demanded their wallets.
When they refused, he threatened the pair with a tomahawk and struck the 30-year-old in the face.
The victim suffered a cut and two fractures to his jaw and will undergo surgery at John Hunter Hospital.
The offender is still on the run. Police are looking for a man described as being Caucasian, 35 to 45 years old, with a stocky build.
He was last seen wearing shorts and a high-visibility work shirt.
