A man has been charged over an alleged robbery on the Gold Coast, where two men who tried to help were also allegedly slashed with a knife.
Police say a 23-year-old man was allegedly robbed by a man brandishing a knife on Cypress Avenue in Surfers Paradise on Friday night.
Two friends of the victim received minor cuts to their hands and arms when they chased after the man and allegedly became involved in an altercation.
The man then fled the scene.
Inquiries led police to charge a 35-year-old Surfers Paradise man with one count of armed robbery.
