LIFE SAVER IN A SERIOUS CONDITION AFTER BEING STRUCK BY VEHICLE

A Port Macquarie lifesaver is in a serious but stable condition, following a crash near Lake Cathie.

Tony Wright was riding his pushbike on Ocean Drive, when it collided with a ute yesterday afternoon.

The 52-year-old was taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he’s expected to undergo surgery for a second time.

Mr Wright is well-known for his involvement with Port Macquarie Surf Club, and as the swim coordinator for Ironman.
