Shannon Eckstein is now the greatest Ironman in history after winning his seventh national title at the Aussies at North Kirra.
The 32 year old eclipsed Trevor Hendy’s long standing record.

In the women’s event, North Burleigh’s Liz Pluimers clinched her third Aussie Ironwoman title, defeating Rebecca Creedy.
