Authorities are warning of a crackdown on illegal seafood sales over the holidays.
In particular – black market oysters – which Fisheries staff warn could be potentially dangerous.
Oysters that haven’t undergone rigid purification procedures can pose serious health risks to anyone consuming them.
Fisheries officers will be conducting patrols across the region over Christmas, New Years period – traditionally the busiest time for seafood consumption.
