VOTERS HIT THE BOOTH EARLY IN TAMWORTH

The battle for votes has ensued in Tamworth with candidates hitting the streets today to woo pre-poll voters.

Incumbent Kevin Anderson and Independent candidate Peter Draper were at the pre-poll booth on Darling Street this morning.

Polling officers reported a steady flow pre-voters on day one.

Last state election, around 35 per cent of people pre-voted, this year that number is expected to climb to 40 per cent.

The booth will be open for the next 12 days for people who are unable to vote on March 28.
