QUILTS TO COMMEMORATE WWI
Women from auxiliary clubs across the country have remembered the 100th anniversary of World War I by creating four commemorative quilts.
On show at Maitland today, the quilts have a distinctly Hunter feel, with local members sewing some of the squares.
“A quilt brings people together. It may not be a rembrant, it may not be a Norman Lindsay, but its been made with love by the women’s auxiliary of New South Wales.”
This quilt will be raffled off, with all of the money raised to support current and retired servicemen.
