The Rural Fire Service is water bombing a blaze in bush south of Newcastle.
It’s burning in the Awabakal Nature Reserve between Dudley and Redhead.
It’s classified as an out-of-control scrub fire, covering about 36 hectares.
Around 10 fire and rescue, and several more RFS units have positioned themselves for property protection if needed but at this stage no houses are under direct threat.
