Burleigh Waters boxer, Les Sherrington got his training off to a running start in Townsville, ahead of his world title fight against Filipino journeyman, Randy Suico on Friday.
Sherrington lives on the Gold Coast and trains in Toowoomba, but hails from the tropical north.
“I was born in Townsville and grew up in and around Townsville and I love coming back here going for a run along The Strand before training.”
Along with the W-B-F middleweight belt, the winner of the bout gets a guaranteed top-10 ranking from both the W-B-O and I-B-F organisations.
