Virgin Australia will begin its direct flights between Port Macquarie and Brisbane tomorrow morning.
The first flight will leave Port just after 10-o’clock on a new ATR 68-seater turbo prop aircraft.
The start of the service will also be linked to a tourism campaign aimed at promoting the region to Queenslanders.
There’s still no word from airline management on whether it will introduce direct flights from Port Macquarie to Melbourne, but on a recent visit to town, CEO John Borghetti said Virgin definitely had its sights set on the service.
