NORTHS TO CELEBRATE 70TH ANNIVERSARY

Far North Coast baseball’s oldest club ‘Norths’ marks a milestone this year – its 70th birthday.

Founded in 1947 by local cricketers, the Lismore outfit has grown significantly.

It now fields teams in every junior and senior division.

“Most baseball clubs in Lismore come from cricket players, looking to improve their skills or keep their skills up to scratch during winter. We’ve had numerous state players and 15 Australian players through the club in that time.”

Past players are invited to attend a reunion at Lismore’s Richmond Hotel next month.
