Seven candidates have lined up for Nationals pre-selection in the state seat of Clarence, which became vacant with the shock resignation of sitting member, Steve Cansdell, earlier this month.
Among those contesting the pre-selection is Clarence Valley Mayor, Richie Williamson.
Fellow councillor, Karen Toms, has also put in a bid to represent the party, as has Stuart George and Chris Gulaptis.
The ballot to decide the Nationals candidate will be held on the 16th of October.
