CARMICHAEL & CALLAGHAN ELIMNATED FROM RIO PRO

Returning to surfing and the final Central Coast surfers left standing in the Rio Pro have been eliminated overnight.

Avoca’s Wade Carmichael was outclassed by John John Florence in round of 16.

“He’s driving dow the line. He gets a quick in and out on the barrel. He needs to complete here, nothing too dynamic here.”

While in the women’s tour, rookie Macy Callaghan posted a low two-wave total that wasn’t enough to send her through.

“Macy Callaghan is looking for a 6.17 on this one. It’s a bigger set race. She’s got a bit of rhythm and flow but nothing really critical.”
