SURFERS MAKE THE MOST OF EXTREME WEATHER

While it was a great day to be indoors, surfers made the most of today’s extreme weather.
Byron Bay’s Main Beach was packed, with crowds flocking to take on solid swell pushed south by Cyclone Debbie.
Waves reached five metres in some areas, with the powerful surf conditions expected to continue until at least Sunday.
Authorities are warning the large swell, combined with the high tide, could cause significant erosion.
