POLICE INVESTIGATE CHILD APPROACH

Maitland police are asking for information after a teenage boy was approached in the Hunter earlier this week.
Officers are looking for a man of Caucasian in appearance, around 175cm tall with a medium build, aged in his mid-60s with white wavy hair and white eyebrows.
Just before 11am on Wednesday, a 16-year-old boy went to a public bathroom at Thornton Shopping Centre.
Police were told an unknown man reached into the boy’s toilet cubicle and touched his leg, before looking at him from above.
The teenage boy left the cubicle, and was confronted by the man who tried to talk to him and grab his hand.
The teenager managed to escape his grip and leave the shopping centre.
The boy told his family, who contacted police.
Police are told the offender was wearing a grey jumper, dark pants, glasses and joggers.
It’s understood he left the shopping centre in a white 2012 Kia Sorento.
