Authorities are investigating a car crash in the Hunter yesterday, which claimed the life of an unidentified person.
Emergency services were called to the Golden Highway at Jerry Plains just before 7pm, after reports a car was on fire.
It’s understood the vehicle was travelling west when its driver veered off the road, crashing and catching alight.
The fire was extinguished by the Rural Fire Service before a body was found inside the car.
Formal identification is yet to be confirmed.
Police have begun inquiries into what may have led to the crash.
