A 13-year-old boy remains in a critical condition in Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital, after being run over and dragged 50 metres by a truck.
The teenager was riding a dirt bike which collided with the truck late yesterday at Aberdare, near Cessnock.
His bike and leg became wedged in the side of a table top truck and he was dragged along the road before the truck stopped.
The truck driver, a 38-year-old man, was taken to Cessnock Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
A man who was a passenger in the truck sustained minor lacerations to his head and was taken to Cessnock Hospital for treatment.
The boy was flown to John Hunter Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
He is 13 not 16.
