Beaches along the Gold Coast were temporarily closed this morning after a large shark was spotted off Surfers Paradise.
Lifeguards moved swimmers out of the water as a rescue helicopter tracked the creature moving south.
Authorities have been on alert following a spate of recent shark attacks on the New South Wales’ north coast.
