A controversial new quarry to be built at Cedar Point – north of Casino – has been given the green light.
It’s got the approval from the Joint Regional Planning Panel – under the condition the developer purchases two other properties nearby at commercial value – should the land owners decide to sell.
Meanwhile council remains concerned about the structural capacity of the bridge that leads to and from the site.
“Trucks going over the bridge are going to be carrying 6 or sevin cubic meter load on the 20 tonne load limit that’s a fair number of truck movement.”
