GOSFORD PUBLIC TO RELOCATE

After months of campaigning, Gosford Public School’s P and C have lost the battle to save their school.
Education Minister, Verity Firth, has today announced Gosford Public School will relocate.
A new school will be built next to Henry Kendall High, despite 75 per-cent of parents opposing the move.
The school was forced to move to make way for development as part of the Gosford Challenge.

Gosford Challenge argued that they don’t expect any increase in the school age population to alley the Ministers concerns about loss of future resources ie land for future expansion .
The loss of the currnet school site will severely deplete space available for future school needs .
Gosford will have Henry Kendall with half capacity and Gosford High . This is a shortsighted decision which future Ministers and Dept of Ed staff will have to clean up at great expense to taxpayers .
The high school capacity in Gosford will be cut by a third and there will be no sites suitable for new schools . Are you paying attention Gosford Golf Club and Race Club .
