SEARCH FOR MISSING SWIMMER CONTINUES

The search for a 19-year-old missinG in waters off Lennox Head continued today.

Emergency services initially called to Seven Mile Beach around six o’clock last night.. After a man was seen having difficulties in the surf ..

Locals attempted to assist the swimmer but were unable to reach him.

“We had the use of the Westpac helicopter, a number on water resources as well but due to the deteriorating conditions police suspended that search about 11 o’clock and resumed at 6AM this morning.” said Richmond Police District Commander, Supt. Scott Tanner.

The search today stretched from Broken Head to Ballina .. drones and a helicopter conducting sweeps of the coastline.
