RAID COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED

The findings from the parliamentary inquiry into the RSPCA raid on Gunnedah’s Waterways Wildlife Park have been released.
The report found the situation could’ve been avoided if concerns raised during a 2007 inspection had been addressed.
Wake up! RSPCA were cleared of wrongdoing – focus on that. It says they had “just cause” to remove the animals (the submission reports confirm this). It says in the findings that things were and are still substandard at Waterways (read the I & I inspectors statements). Dept I & I have done the wrong thing for sure – they should have come down heavily on the neglect of the animals in the zoo a long time ago. RSPCA were doing their job – I & I were not, and Waterways Wildlife Park is the place that needs a “good shake up” to quote Nancys words on TV.
