- It’s an anxious wait for Perth teenager Jamie Murphy, who remains in police custody in Bali. He’s awaiting test results on white power found in his bag at a Kuta nightclub. Under Indonesian law, Mr Murphy can be held for up to three days before officially being named a suspect.
- Police have released frightening new detail, about the way local mail thieves are working with international crime syndicates to commit identity theft. Officers released this CCTV, hoping members of the public can identify people in the footage. It appears apartment blocks close to railway stations are prime targets.
- Unvaccinated high school students will be forced to miss out on class, as part of a crackdown from the New South Wales health department.
- And talk show star Ellen Degeneres and a host of other celebrities have been awarded the Medal of Freedom by US president Barack Obama. Tom Hanks and Michael Jordan also received the award at the White House – the highest American civilian honour.
