ESSENTIAL ENERGY WORKERS TO GO ON STRIKE

Essential Energy workers have voted to go on strike as early as next month, protesting the electricity provider’s planned job cuts.
Around 39 Port Macquarie jobs are facing the axe, with concerns more will be lost if the company succeeds in scrapping its current workplace agreement.
The ballot found an overwhelming majority support work stoppages of up to 72 hours, along with bans on overtime and paperwork.
