An 18-year-old man is in a stable condition in John Hunter Hospital after being knocked unconscious out the front of the Prince of Wales Hotel at Merewether last night.
Police were called to the premises just before 10pm, and found the man lying on the ground, suffering head injuries.
Officers have taken CCTV footage from the hotel, and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or Newcastle Police.
