And last week’s heavy rain means Lake Cathie will be artificially opened to the for the second time this year.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has been monitoring the level of the lake, which has now reached 1.7-metres.
After waiting for sea conditions to ease, council plans to manually open the lake tomorrow.
The lake was opened back in April, but a build up of sand saw the entrance close off less than two months later.
