WHITEHAVEN HEARING DELAYED AGAIN UNTIL NEXT MONTH

The state government has delayed making a decision on Whitehaven Coal’s Maules Creek mine
Biodiversity Management Plan, which was due to be handed down tomorrow in the Land and Environment Court.
The hearing has been moved to next month, with the company making several amendments to the plan.
If the revision is approved by the planning department, it could allow the mining giant to clear the Leard Forest in spring.
