POND UPGRADE COMPLETE

A $200,000 facelift to two ponds in Tamworth’s bicentennial park

is now complete.

The upgrade includes a new bore to ensure the town’s drinking water supply won’t be used to fill the ponds.

“The really great thing about it is we’re not going to be putting treated water back into those ponds, we’ve used an existing irrigation licence, an existing bore licence that council’s had.”

The works were undertaken after a water efficiency audit revealed the ponds were leaking and required frequent water top-ups.
