Motorists travelling through Harrington will benefit from reconstruction along the main street of the village with 585 metres of Beach Street being rehabilitated.
The popular stretch is the main entrance into Crowdy Head, often carrying a high volume of traffic.
The work will improve the road pavement while fixing parts of worn surfaces.
The 6-week project will begin in March with a section of road being reduced to a single lane while work is undergoing.
