It was a mixed weekend for Hunter basketball teams with Newcastle’s men’s and women’s sides scoring solid wins, while Maitland was humbled by North Sydney.
The home town Mustangs made a solid start, with Luke Boyle and Kieran Gleeson on target.
American import King Cannon spun his way to basket, while Mitch Rueter somehow got this shot to fall, as Maitland trailed by four at half time.
But the second half belonged to Norths, who finished 19 points in front.
