GUYRA MOTHER OF DUCK’S LAGOON TIPPED FOR NEARLY $500,000 UPGRADE

Guyra’s Mother of Ducks Lagoon could soon be in for a half-a-million-dollar upgrade.
There has been a dramatic increase in the number of tourists pulling up to camp at the site in recent years, especially during summer.
The current amenities, parking spaces and picnic facilities aren’t equipped to deal with the influx.
“At any given night we can have up to twenty vans parked there around the lagoon and there’s just one very tiny amenities block,” Adam Marshall, Member for Northern Tablelands.
Armidale Regional Council is working with the state government to fund the project, which local member Adam Marshall says would be a huge coup for the community of Guyra.
“Every single tourist that we can stop and can camp a night or two at that Lagoon means dollars in the pockets of local businesses.”
