KURT GIDLEY OFF HIS FEET FOR SIX WEEKS AFTER SURGERY

He’s used to being on TV, but today Kurt Gidley was giving them away.
As part of a State of Origin promotion, Gidley was one of five players from the Hunter and Central Coast given a television to present to their junior club.
Gidley had to miss Sunday’s test against the Kiwis in order to have an arthroscope on his knee and ankle, but says it will be worth it.
“The reason I got it done is to have plenty of time to be ready for next year, so I’m confident it’ll come back nice and healthy.”
The captain is likely to play in the halves with Jarrod Mullen next year, but there’s also speculation he’ll spend time at hooker to help out Danny Buderus.
“Yeah maybe, hopefully still got a few years left, tucking my head in the scrum might cut my career short so I might let Bedsy do that for another 12 months.”
