There’s been a dramatic end to a high speed chase on the Gold Coast with a 32-year-old man arrested at a Carrara property.
The man was spotted on a stolen Yamaha on the M-One at Ormeau this morning – allegedly travelling at speeds of over 200 kilometres an hour.
The police helicopter tracked the bike to Carrara, where the hoon escaped and took cover in the shed of a family home.
“We don’t believe he’s placed them in any danger whatsoever.. But definitely would have given them a fright to know someone in their property.”
The man is now in police custody and could be charged with the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
