A teenage boy is missing after jumping into a waterhole in the state’s far north coast yesterday.
Shortly after 1pm on Monday the 17-year-old male was at Boonoo Boonoo Falls, within the Boonoo Boonoo National Park near Tenterfield, with friends when he jumped from a ledge into a fast flowing waterfall.
Once the boy failed to resurface, emergency services were contacted.
Police, Ambulance Paramedics and SES attended and searched the adjoining waterholes however the boy was unable to be located.
At the time of the incident, the water current was strong and there was low visibility in the water.
Police divers are travelling from Sydney today and are expected to resume the search for the boy this afternoon.
