DOCS ACCUSED OF COVER UP
The New South Wales Opposition has slammed the government’s handling of a baby boy’s death in Belmont in 2007, following allegations of a cover-up by the Department of Community Services.
The infant’s body was discovered dumped in a vacant block, near a hotel where his family was living.
Opposition Leader Barry O’Farrell says the family was known to DoCS, and a senior caseworker who had raised concerns about the parents was never interviewed.
But Community Services Minister Linda Burney says there’s nothing to support allegations of a cover-up.
