CONFRONTING LESSONS FOR STUDENTS

High school students have been learning all about the consequences of taking risks, during a seminar in Port Macquarie today.

A confronting crash scenario, involving emergency services, is part of the program which aims to educate year 11 students on how to respond to emergencies.

More than 4,000 pupils from 50 high schools across the north coast have attended the RRISK (Reduce Risk, Increase Studnet Knowledge) seminars, being held from Tweed Heads to Port Macquarie this month.

A key component of the program is the training of 350 of those students to act as peer facilitators.
