Man nabbed drunk driving in golf cart on Mid North NSW Coast
A 50-year-old man has been caught drunk driving a golf buggy on the Mid North NSW Coast.
The man was allegedly driving an electric golf cart along with a passenger on Landsborough Street in South West Rocks about 12.20am on June 29.
Police signalled the man to stop on Mitchell Street but he allegedly jumped out of the golf cart and attempted to flee.
He was apprehended a short time later and found to be “well-affected” by liquor, NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol Command said.
The man was arrested and taken to South West Rocks Police Station where he allegedly returned a Blood Alcohol Content reading of 0.161.
He was issued with a court attendance notice of ‘Drive with High Range PCA’ to appear before Kempsey Local Court on July 18.
He was also issued an infringement notice for driving an unregistered vehicle on a road and driving with an expired driver’s licence.
