Man drowns at Seal Rocks on Mid North Coast

The body of a man has been located in the water on the state’s mid north coast.
About 7.15pm yesterday (Sunday 19 February 2023), officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District responded to reports that property was located on the beach and a swimmer was unable to be sighted at Treachery Beach, near Seal Rocks on the Mid-North Coast.
A search of the ocean by the Westpac Rescue helicopter and Surf Life Saving personnel using a jetski recovered a man’s body approximately 100 metres offshore.
The body is believed to be that of a 48-year-old man.
There are no suspicious circumstances.
An investigation into the incident by officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District has commenced and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
