Man dies after being pulled from water at Nambucca Heads
A man has died after being pulled unconscious from the surf on New South Wales’ mid north coast in what is the latest incident in a string of drowning deaths this summer.
Emergency services rushed to Shelly Beach at Nambucca Heads around 12.40pm on Sunday after receiving reports the 75-year-old had encountered trouble after being struck by a wave.
He was pulled from the water by members of the public.
The man was treated onshore by paramedics but died later that afternoon at Coffs Harbour Hospital.
Police have started an investigation and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
