‘ANOTHER POSSIBLE FLOOD EVENT’ SAYS WEATHERZONE
Multiple states bracing for heavy rain as another cold front sweeps through
Another destructive cold front is sweeping east, exacerbating the risk of flooding across multiple states in southern Australia.
“The heaviest rain will be in central and southern inland NSW and the ACT, where 24-hour totals could exceed 150mm on and west of the ranges, with six-hourly rainfall rates possibly reaching 50 to 60mm.” Weatherzone said.
Severe weather warnings have been issued and multiple flood watches are in place across parts of NSW.
Weather conditions are expected to be wettest and windiest today for southern and central inland areas, where flash flooding is also possible.
Thunderstorms are possible for much of the state. Severe thunderstorms are possible in the northern and southern inland regions of NSW, with the potential to bring damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall on Thursday afternoon and evening.
